Common FAQs

What is the cost to implement SMS marketing for my restaurant?

One Time Cost:
$50 – Brand and campaign registration with the national SMS brand registry
$50 – Additional vetting for customers needing higher volume (T-Mobile limits to 2,000 messages per day at brand level for basic registration)

Monthly Cost:
$30 – Cost per campaign for individual locations (2> locations)
$10 – Cost per campaign for chains, cost per location (3+ Locations)

SMS Cost:
Price determined based on message segments per month sent

What are message segments that determine the cost for an SMS marketing campaign?
A single SMS message can technically support up to 160 characters, or up to 70 characters if it contains one or more Unicode characters (such as emojis or Chinese characters). However, modern phones and mobile networks support message concatenation, allowing longer messages to be sent. Messages longer than 160 characters are automatically split into parts, called ‘segments,’ and reassembled upon receipt. While message concatenation enables you to send longer SMS messages, it also increases your per-message cost, as SMS messages are billed per segment.
Does Text Dot Food abide by compliance standards?

We are fully compliant with the 2022 FCC “A2P” text message rules

What steps do Text Dot Food take to ensure compliance standards are met?
  • Outbound messages are tagged to a registered SMS carrier campaign
  • We register your SMS “brand” or brands and campaigns
  • Messages automatically include required opt-out language (“reply STOP to stop receiving these messages”)
  • We handle STOP/RESUME/HELP messages
  • We automatically filter outer landlines after first attempt to send, unlike many other vendors who will happily charge you over and over for numbers that cannot receive messages.
How does SMS marketing provide an ROI?

We have customers who send 400 messages a day at a cost of about $6, and generate 8-12 orders with margin after food cost for $80-$150. This is a new way to think of marketing, as results are “right now.”
